Privacy Policy

Effective October 29, 2026

In short

Midnight Atlas is an educational app about the sky of ancient Egypt. It does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. Every star, card and lesson ships inside the app, so it works fully offline.

This policy covers the Midnight Atlas app for iPhone and this website.

What stays on your device

To remember your place, the app saves a small file in its own private storage on your iPhone. It contains only:

  • your favourite sky objects, cards and lessons;
  • lesson progress and the answers you chose in lesson questions;
  • which cards you have read;
  • recently viewed sky objects (at most the newest 40, and nothing older than 180 days);
  • your text size and appearance (light or dark) settings, and whether you have seen the map tour.

iOS may also keep the state of the app window, such as the open tab, so you return where you left off.

This information never leaves your device through the app and is never sent to us. It may be included in your own iCloud or computer backups, which Apple handles under its own terms. You can erase it at any time in My Sky → Settings → Reset progress, or by deleting the app.

What we do not collect

  • No name, email address, phone number or other contact details.
  • No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data. The app asks for no permissions.
  • No device identifiers, advertising identifiers, usage analytics or crash logs collected by us.
  • No third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics or social login.

The app does not connect to the internet. It does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and its privacy manifest declares no collected data and no tracking domains.

Apple and the App Store

Downloads and any payments are handled by Apple through the App Store. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous statistics such as crash reports and install counts. These cannot identify you and are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

This website

  • No cookies and no analytics. The site does not set cookies and contains no tracking scripts.
  • Fonts. Text is displayed with Google Fonts. To deliver the font files, your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and browser details. See Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Hosting. The company that hosts this site may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, time and page requested) for security and reliability.
  • Contact form. The form on the home page is a demonstration only. It does not send or store anything you type. To reach us, please email us directly.

Children

Midnight Atlas is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 where that age applies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data. We hold no personal data about you from the app, and everything it saves stays on your device under your control.

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and we delete the conversation when it is no longer needed. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. If the app ever begins to collect data, this policy will be updated before that version is released.
